The total number of credits for
graduating high school with P.I.C.A. is at least 24 carnegie units, including, but not limited to, the following:
English 4
Math 3
Science 2 to 4
National History 1
World History 1
Civics 1/2
World Geography 1
Computer Science 1/2 to 1
Physical Education 2
Foreign Language 1 to 2
Economics 1/2
Electives 8
P.I.C.A. also offers specialized and advanced high school courses:
Graphic Design, Computer Science (professional level) Trigonometry, College Math, Precalculus, Bible and Science, Introduction to Geography (college level), History of Civilization 1 & 2 (college level), Beginning and Advanced Art, Business Math, Christian Growth, Collectivism, The Constitution, Life of Christ, Introduction to Missions, Speech, New Testament Survey, New Testament Church History, Soulwinning, Music, Health, General Business, Basic Literature, Accounting, and more!
There are four basic courses of study for P.I.C.A. graduation candidates:
To achieve an Honors diploma a student must complete 27 credits with a 94% GPA and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in written and oral presentations. His composite reading rate should be over 600 WPM on the A.C.E. Readmaster program, and he should score at least 22 on the ACT or 1000 for the Critical Reading and Math scores combined on the SAT.
The student striving for the College Prep diploma is required to complete 25 credits and with an 88% GPA. He should demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in written and oral presentations. His composite reading rate should be in excess of 500 WPM as measured on the A.C.E. Readmaster program. He should score at least 20 on the ACT or 900 (Critical Reading and Math scores combined) on the SAT.
For the General Course of Study students must complete a minimum of 24 credits with an 88% GPA.
The Vocational Prep student must complete a minimum of 24 credits. Further detail concerning this option may be discussed with our high school counselor.
